Community Speedwatch Volunteers Required!- CANCELLED
Updated: Mar 21, 2020
Update 21/03/2020
After seeking guidance from Derbyshire Constabulary, Community Speedwatch training and activities have been suspended as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic. Revised training dates will be sent out to all parishioners later in the year.
Kilburn Parish Council, Denby Parish Council and Neighbourhood Watch are working in partnership with Derbyshire Constabulary to set a Community Speedwatch group up in the parish. With this in mind, we currently require volunteers to help with the scheme.
The aim is that those who are caught speeding by the team of volunteers are sent a formal letter from Derbyshire Constabulary advising them that they are breaking the law and providing an explanation of what could be done to prosecute motorists should they be repeatedly caught and also the reasons for reducing their speed on our roads.
We hope that this in turn will make the roads into, out of and around Kilburn and Denby safer for both road users and pedestrians.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Cllr Daniel Beadell by email at KilburnNHW@outlook.com
